The cars of the Japanese company Toyota have established themselves as an example of quality and reliability. But as it turned out, even the ideal has flaws. The experts named the most problematic models of the manufacturer.
The 2007 Toyota Camry has been losing its position in the Consumer Reports reliability rating for five years in a row. The version with a 3.5-liter V6 engine shows the most problems. The unit consumes a huge amount of engine oil, which leads to premature engine wear.
The 2007 Toyota RAV4 SUV spoiled the image of the popular model. The third generation XA30 has greatly reduced the position of the SUV in the reliability rating. This model was also equipped with a 3.5-liter V6 engine, like the 2007 Camry. Powerplant problems for the sedan and SUV were similar. The RAV4, among other things, had defects in the steering system.
Toyota Corolla 2009 release closes the top three “losers”. Almost all generations of the model were famous for their reliability, except for the tenth. Copies produced in 2009 with a 1.8-liter 2ZR-FE engine consumed a lot of engine oil. These cars very often visited service stations with problems such as: defects in the electrical system of the windows, problem cables that prevent airbags from deploying, damage to the water pump and overheating of the engine.
